MQMagazine talent spotlight goes too!! 3x’s National Sprint Medalist
Brijesh “BJ” Lawrence
Brijesh, is a Saint Kitts and Nevis Track & Field Sprinter who won the Sliver Medal in the 4x100m relay at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. He also took home the Bronze Medal in the 4x100m relay as well at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.  We stumbled on this talent on his off season as he prepares for the 2020 Summer Olympics.  We are pleased to have captured this talent off the field and in his professional environment.

MQM: Hello BJ! You are MQM’s talent spotlight for the month, tell our readers your experience with working with Wakina for this issue. Can our readers look forward to another collaboration between the two?
BJ: This was my first shoot with a professional photographer and Wakina made it very easy. She knew exactly where to place me in the shoot and yes we have another shoot on the track, coming soon!

MQM: We love your look!  Have you ever thought about becoming a professional model?

BJ: Not really, I’ve always had a passion for sports and technology so those two professions has taken up my time.

MQM: We know you are an Silver and Bronze medalist, can you tell our readers how long you’ve been a sprinter and is there any other records you hold?
BJ: I’ve been running since I was 5 years old and been representing my country (St. Kitts and Nevis) since 2010. I hold 3 national sprint records for St. Kitts and Nevis.
MQM: What motivates you? How often do you train when its off season and what are some of your work-out routines?  Will you be competing to run in the 2020 Summer Olympics or any other competitions?

BJ: Competition motivates me the most, since childhood I’ve always wanted to be the best and I made sure I did everything right from training, to being discipline and not cutting any corners. I don’t think I’ve ever missed a training session. The way it works in qualifying for the Olympics is you have to finish in the top 3 in your country at the National Olympic Trials, its usually about 2 months before the Olympics so right now that is my long term goal. A few years ago I was very fortunate to have been invited by the (King) Sheikh of Qatar to attend the Doha GOALS Forum as a Speaker. It was a humbling experience being around the many different royal families of the world.

MQM:  So, “BJ” tell our readers what it is exactly that you do when your not on the field?  Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years, when it comes to your professional career?

BJ: If not training, I’m usually doing business for work or learning about new technology. In 5 years I see myself in a Senior Manager position within the Experiential Marketing business.

MQM: What can our readers expect next from you and where can our readers find out more information about you? Is there anyone you would like to give a special shout out to that has helped you along your way?

BJ: Check out my twitter and IG for the latest updates on my meet schedule. I’ve gotten a lot of support along the way from my High School with Coach Plend to college with Coach Fye. My family, country and friends. Also my lady Andrea, they have been there pretty much from the start. Without them I’m not sure I would of been as successful, I have a great team.

Remember you saw them here 1st!
