Keda fiyaa Born as Rickeda Charda Taylor, this Gem, a Jamaican American singjay grew up in NYC becoming the 2nd child of 7 to her Jamaican parents. Her family later relocated to Orlando Florida where she completed high school and continued on to receive her degree in business. Growing up in such a large family made Keda very family oriented, she could always count on her close knit family for support in all her endeavors so it came as no surprise to her, that her family gave their unconditional support to her to pursue her passion for music after college.
In her own words Keda says, her family recognized from an early age that music fueled her existence and as such they always volunteered to be her first audience and provided honest and insightful feedback which aided her development as an artiste. Despite growing up in the United States, Reggae/Dancehall music was always a part of her life. Her mother owned a night club and used to promote parties and keep stages shows with artists.
From a early age those things intrigued Keda, she fell in love with music and knew she was made for the stage. As such her early musical influences were a melting pot of sounds which included Lady Saw, Buju Banton, Bob Marley, and Mary J Blige while her present influences are Vybz Kartel, Alaine, Bugle and as well as her good friends and mentor Tommy Lee and Jahvinci. Keda has gained an extensive catalogue of different sounds and music. Dropping hot collabs with some of Jamaica’s finest Dancehall Artistes.. Including recently being featured on Vybz Kartel’s Miracle. Currently Keda is working on building her brand, and her reintroduction back into the Dancehall Scene with her new sound and sexy look. Stay Tuned!
